Building your faith is very important as long as you are a Christian. This is because no matter how you serve God if you don’t have faith in Him, you are wasting your time. The weapon you need to triumph as a Christian is faith. Without this faith, many things would go wrong in your life.
Why do you need this faith so much?
You need faith because that is the only thing that can make you prosper in whatever you do and make you victorious in all battles. The difference between you and that neighbour whose business is booming more than yours is faith. That is why you need to build it.
How can you build your faith?
1. By hearing the word of God.
Do you spend more time watching movies than you spend time listening to messages from the men of God? If yes, that is where your problem is coming from. To build your faith, you need to listen to the word of God. You can not have this faith without the words so you need them more than anything.
The Bible stated clearly in the book of Romans how one can receive faith. Let us read from the book of Romans 10:17.
Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. NIV
2. By praying.
After hearing the word of God, you need to pray. Your prayers should be centered on how God should establish what you have heard in your life. When you pray about it, God sees to it that you truly need faith.
3. Speak it the way you want it to happen.
This is the stage where you need to put what you have heard and prayed about into practice. You need to speak with God’s authority and watch it happen. With faith, you can heal the sick, make your business an enviable success, do whatever you desire within you, etc.
Jesus speaking to the people in the book of Matthew, He made them understand the extent to which one with faith can operate. Let us read from the book of Matthew 21:21.
Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. NIV
Have you seen that? Even though your faith is little, it can go as far as moving a mountain. But let me clarify something here. There is a difference between “Let me say this thing and see if it will happen” and “Let me say this thing and see it happen”. While the first one is lacking faith, the second one is full of faith.
So you need to fully believe before you say it. I pray that God should help you in building your faith in Jesus name.
