As Christians, you must be very critical and positive about our prayer life because that ensures our growth and development in the spirit. You should check your life on a daily basis and ensure that you are on the right path with God. Here are 7 things you do that weaken your prayer life:
1. Excessive Eating:
Although it is evident that the optimum time to pray is at night, eating more than you need at night will simply weaken your body. Even if you eat, only a small bit will suffice so that you can pray and sleep well.
2. Sleep:
You must teach your body to sleep less and stay awake for longer periods of time. Sleep depletes your ability to pray. The truth is that some sleep is a form of assault. Because the Bible commands us to remain sober and watchful because the devil is on the lookout for anyone he can devour, try to spend more constructive time in prayer than sleeping.
3. Filthiness of the spirit and soul: Pornography, sex chat, and impure thoughts are killers of prayer stamina. Your inner man would always be defeated by feeding your spirit man with filthy and erotic content. Try to improve your inner man and say no to deflect. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.
4. Bad atmosphere:
The environment you build and inhabit is really important. Your prayer fire will die if you’re surrounded by prayer slackers, gossipers, and carnal believers. You’d be irritated by gossip and backbiting. You should strive to avoid these situations if you want to improve your prayer life.
5. Poor feeding of your inner man.
You can’t be a prayer champion if your spirit man isn’t well fed. If you don’t listen to sermons, seldom study the Bible, or read Christian articles, your prayer life will suffer. Spend more time listening to these things to strengthen your spiritual life.
6. Worry: No worrier becomes a prayer warrior. Kill your worry to give life to your prayer stamina.
7. Distraction through watching TV, addiction to social media, and boyfriend or girlfriend syndrome. Work on your prayer life.
In conclusion, these are some of the things that weaken your prayer life and you need to be bold enough to know to stop all these things. God will help you in Jesus’ name. Amen
