7 warnings Bishop David Oyedepo Gave Pastors as he taught them about hearing God’s voice

Bishop David Oyedepo, the General Overseer of the Living Faith Church Worldwide spoke on “Access To The Voice Of The Spirit Is Our Greatest Asset In Ministry” – Unveiling The Triumph Of Light” 2022 Ministers’ Conference: The Triumph Of Light, Day Two, Evening Session, Canaanland, Ota.

He gave them certain instructions and warnings as he taught them about hearing God’s Voice. Here are 7 of them:

1. Whenever you’re corrected, Receive it with delight.

The voice of the Spirit is accompanied with Joy. It’s not depressing. You don’t have to tell anybody anything. You have your life to live. If it’s not joyful, it’s not His voice. The voice of the spirit is accompanied with peace. Peace that passes all knowledge. It comes along with joy, joy unspeakable.

2. The devil is a trick master, the most subtle of all the animals God made. He has an unusual capacity for deception that could deceive the entire world. Revelation 12:9. He did that during the COVID-19 pandemic. Light came and blasted him so came with another version of Coro, he went back with all of them. The whole world was under the siege of His deception

3. Don’t follow your feelings, follow His leadings.

He said that we always triumph by His leading, you can’t be defeated God leading you, because He goes before the led. The Good shepherd leadeth the sheep and because no gate can be shut against God, it opens to you on their own accord, He goes before the led. That is why you can’t be defeated following His leading, we cannot be defeated following His leading.

4. Correction will not end as long as progress must continue. That word came from the heart of God. If you are not willing to be corrected, you are not a candidate for direction because this thing we call direction comes 75 per cent as instructions. It may not line up with what you want to do but that is what you must do if you must get to where He is taking you to. We have prayed for it, we have received it, we will abide by it.

5. No one goes forward sitting down, you go forward taking steps. The steps have been unveiled for forward movement, for advancement. Lord grace to take steps and keep taking them as a way of life, I receive in Jesus’ precious name.

6. Without vision and direction, ministry is an adventure in frustration. Jesus triumphed gloriously through His uncheckered ability to see and to hear. He was seeing what to do next. He was hearing how to go about it. So we are called with the blessing of seeing into God’s plan as they come in phases.

7. The voice of the stranger is everything contrary to the voice of God. So everything that is not the voice of God represents the voice of strangers contrary to it. 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4. So he is opposed to anything of God. So if we know the characteristics of the voice of God, we can always know the voice of the stranger. They are just contrary to each other. If you don’t know that you will fall victim to his tricks. If you don’t know what the voice of a stranger curtails.
