The United Arab Emirates Mosque has been renamed ‘Mary, Mother of Jesus.’

A mosque in the United Arab Emirates has been renamed to honor Mary, Jesus’ mother.

Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed mosque renamed to ‘Mariam, Umm Eisa’ which translates from Arabic to English as ‘Mary Mother of Jesus’. Next door to renamed mosque is Anglican parish St Andrew’s Church in Al Mushrif, Abu Dhabi.

The Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed mosque in Al Mushrif, an area of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, has been given the new name “Mariam, Umm Eisa,” which is Arabic for “Mary Mother of Jesus” in English.

The Arabic term for Mary, The Mother of Jesus, is Mariam Umm Eisa.

Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi, gave the order to rename the mosque in order to “consolidate connections of humanity amongst adherents of other religions,” according to Gulf News.

Keep in mind that the Quran does in fact name and greatly adore “Mary, Mother of Jesus.”

Anglican parish St. Andrew’s Church is located just next door to the renamed mosque.

Senior chaplain of St. Andrew’s Church Andrew Thompson was described as responding to the news by stating, “We are thrilled that we are commemorating something that we share in common with both of our religions.

Mary is undoubtedly a sacred and important figure in our society as the mother of Jesus. She is a lady who represents submission to God.

As we celebrate the mosque’s new name with our neighbors, Thompson added, “we look forward to deepening our understanding with them.”

The Evangelical Community Church’s senior pastor in Abu Dhabi, Jeramie Rinne, also praised the information.

“By renaming the mosque, Muhammad demonstrated his generosity and religious tolerance once again. The UAE still sets the standard for peaceful cohabitation and collaboration in this area. We are really motivated and grateful to be a part of this country, he remarked.
