Bishop David Oyedepo Reacts to Covenant University Latest Ranking In Africa.
In a recent address, Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Covenant University, conveyed a powerful message of gratitude and awe for the institution’s remarkable achievements. He emphasized the pivotal role of God in sustaining the university’s success, emphasizing the need for continuous thanksgiving.
Oyedepo began by attributing the seamless functioning of the university to the divine presence, asserting that God’s providence is the bedrock upon which everything thrives. He urged the congregation to offer their thanks to God for His unwavering support, which ensures that the university runs effortlessly, devoid of stress or strain.
Addressing the exceptional performance of Covenant University in global rankings, Oyedepo underscored that the institution’s ascendancy is a testament to divine favor. He marveled at how a relatively young university has eclipsed venerable institutions, both public and private, nationwide. His resounding message was that all success, no matter how small, is a direct result of acknowledging and appreciating God’s influence.
In his words, “Everything keeps working here because God is here. Give God thanks for keeping everything working in this place, without sweat and stress. For keeping everything working in your life, give Him thanks. Also for keeping this great nation today till now, give God thanks. Give Him thanks for preserving this nation for over 63 years.
Speaking further, he said, “We can’t glide over the acts of God at Covenant University. We can’t. We will be ingrates doing so. What have we done to merit all that we are seeing? We just came up yesterday. Universities have been forever in Africa. Nigeria has been there for over 60 years. When did we come? Who is making it happen? God! We are talking about global ranking, not local ranking. On top of all Federal, State and Private universities, how? God! If you don’t give God thanks for one, you never arrive at two. All things may not be working right now for someone here but give God thanks for what is working then He will enlarge it. Thank God for keeping Covenant University on top over the years without stress or strain, for giving Himself a name. Thank God for what He is doing at Covenant University to prove that it is His own.”
