One of the things that must come to pass before Jesus returns is that the gospel of the kingdom will spread to every nation and to everybody. That’s probably why these days, churches hold massive evangelism outreaches, and there are many calls from church leaders to invite people to church.
Bishop David Oyedepo has revealed the only way you can effectively invite people to church. He said during the Covenant Hour Of Prayer meeting today, that it is only when you partner with the Holy Spirit you can effectively preach the gospel and invite people to church.
“There are many people out there who are just waiting for you to say come, but it is the Holy Spirit that will make you find those people and bring them to church,” the Bishop said.
He gave an illustration of harvest time on farms. You can harvest with your hands and get the job done, but it will be very stressful and time consuming. Also, you will not be able to harvest much produce before you get tired. However, if you use a Harvester, you will be able to harvest your produce within a few hours. You will not be stressed while you do it. In fact, you can listen to music while you operate your machine, and you can harvest acres upon acres of produce.
He said that was how the Holy Spirit would make your labour easy. He said that the Holy Spirit is the one that can change your cutlass to a chain saw to make your job of cutting a tree easy.
It is the Holy Spirit that will convict the people you reach out to of their need to receive Jesus. Nobody can come to Jesus except the Holy Spirit brings them. People are not easily convinced to come to church, but when the Holy Spirit is involved, people can agree to come to church with you. The Bible declares that the man God chooses to come to his house is blessed. From that scripture we can see that God is the one who chooses people to come to him.
