Bishop Wisdom Irabor, the Presiding Bishop of Answers Assembly sends an important message to pastors and advised them to never beg to be invited to preach. It is the beginning of all the maltreatment pastors suffer as Guests Speakers.
He said that last year in Enugu, he was given four business class tickets by a church to fly from Warri to Lagos, then Lagos to Enugu. After the meeting, he flew back to Lagos, then to Warri.
One of the flights was delayed, and while at the airport, they gave me a business class to join another flight. The hotel he stayed at in Enugu was a hundred and thirty-five thousand naira for one night, he stayed for four days.
He said that as he was leaving, he was given a sum of one million naira, yet he only did training for just one night. There was no seeing of vision, no calling people out to prophesy to them. No deliverance moves. He was told to just come and talked to Pastors and church workers about followership.
So, he said, “Never forget that the man who begged to come and the man they begged to come is never treated the same way. Be satisfied with your own work and put your life there, for that is your retirement benefits, and Pension fund for life.
At old age, you will understand the damage you have done to that work. Investing your youthful energy to strengthen where your old age security is not guaranteed. Before you rush here to blame those kinds of hosts, remember they were not ready to host, but the Guest were ready to take anything just to be hosted.”
