Ejike Mbaka argues how Pentecostal Pastors are Using the Catholic Church as a Fish Pond and gives reasons for this.
Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, who serves as the Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), gave a sermon today in which he discussed the reasons why members of the Catholic Church are defecting to Pentecostal churches. He said that Catholic churches are being used as a fish pond by Pentecostal congregations.
It is the leadership of the Catholic Church, according to him, that should be held responsible for this. He used the example of Cardinal Okpaleke, who was sent to Ahiara in Imo State but was forced to quit as a result of turmoil within the church. Therefore, he said that the Ahiara branch has been closed down up to the present day, causing its members to seek membership in other churches.
on his own words, he stated the following on the video (around the 51:51 mark): “Today, our leaders in the Catholic church don’t care whether we want to move to a Pentecostal church or nothing, since we have millions of people who will remain here. We do not know whether or not Pentecostal members and pastors are utilizing the Catholic Church as a fish pond from which they would harvest their own members.
“If we keep losing members at this rate, there will come a time when we may look back and see nobody,” the leader of the group said. The ritual recipe that we are using here is one of our own creation. I don’t understand why they won’t go.
