There is nothing in life that cannot change or take a new leave. One of the stories that clearly paint this concept is the reinvention of Daystar Christian Centre
Pastor Sam Adeyemi (the founder of Daystar Christian Center) gave a detailed analysis of how the church was transformed from grass to grace. According to him, the church was crawling for about three years as at 1998.
One day, he had a dream of a new church that was entirely different from what was on ground. It was so glorious and beautifully painted that friends came from around the world to congratulate him.
When he woke up, he prayed and ask what next to do, and he was told to organize a twenty one days fasting and prayer.
Hence, he led the church in the fast for the first three weeks of November. It was an intensive prayer.
For the purpose of inspiration, let me go into detail of the sacrifice that went into this great church that we celebrate today. The prayers that was organized was a twenty four hours prayer chain. That is, every church member was given a convenient praying time slot to pick. This was in a bid to make sure that there is at least one person praying at every given point in time.
In the course of the prayer, God told him that the old daystar needs to die for a new Daystar to rise.
About three days to the end of the fast, they got a new venue which was fully paid for. By march 1999, they moved into it.
Here is where I want you to pay more attention. Precisely, two days to the end of the fast, he was given a book by “Rick Warren” which was titled:The Purpose Driven Church. Just a glance through the preface captured his attention and he invited the entire pastorate to study the book with him. And it took them weeks to finish.
To cut the long story short, he got the new structure of the church from it.
In his own words, he said: “What we are looking for is in this book, I don’t want to read it alone so we are all going to read it together”
One of the major discoveries from that book changed the church training system. He discovered that the idea that pastors are the only persons that should train people while the members are to be spectators is not God’s design for the new testament church. Thus, he championed the first membership training and told the pastors and members present that the subsequent sessions will be handled by them.
Although, this new church structure faced some challenges at first, however, it yielded good results afterward.

I took the pain to go through a little of this story so that we can be well acquainted with the slogan which says “anything good doesn’t come easy”.
