How to be angry as a Christian without committing sin – Pastor Kumuyi

The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, has revealed the meaning of the popular passage of scripture that says, “Be angry but sin not.”

In a video on his verified Facebook page, the man of God said that Abel didn’t suspect that Cain was angry with him. Kumuyi said,

“Let us be very careful in our lives. If you master anger and always cover it, why not use the same energy to seek the face of God for help? God will answer and cleanse you, and your life will become straight and transparent.”

On how Christians can be angry without committing sin, Pastor Kumuyi said, “Be angry at the wrong actions, but never at the person involved.” This implies that Christians should channel their anger at the evil act of the person who offended them and not at the person’s personality. This will hinder killing and the escalation of evil. Ephesians 4:26 says, “Be ye angry, and sin not; let not the sun go down upon your wrath.” Kumuyi said, “Cain killed his brother because his work was righteous and his own work was evil.”
