Some of us grow up in families whereby siblings have to adapt to a certain character in order for them to be equally treated by their parents.
Men who are pastors are forced to raise their children in reference to what the Bible says. It does not always work because being a pastor is not something that can be inherited by your children, but it has to be a spiritual calling. Children might abide by your rules when they are young, but once they start seeing what the outside world looks like, they might get out of your way to chase their own dreams.
I recently came across the confession of a man who regards himself as the most successful child in his family, but his father has never wished him the best. His name is Sakhile Ngwenya, and he revealed that his father’s favorite children were not as successful as he was.
Sakhile says the reason why his father has always been against him is because he decided against being a Christian. He is even certain that his father used to pray against his success so that God could teach him a lesson. He thinks his father did not believe that he deserved his success because he had forsaken God, and he also wanted his God-fearing children to be more successful.
Sakhile says his mother has always been on his side. His mother believed that Sakhile was the one who was meant to break the family curse. He says his father was there, but he does not think that he wished success upon him. The only thing that his father was convinced about was that the devil had captured Sakhile through education.
I think discipline is the most important thing that parents need to instill in their children. After discipline, you need to guide them when they make their choices and do not expect them to live your life because they might not find their potential. The reason Sakhile is the most successful one in the family might be that he chose to follow his ambitions.
