Gender roles is a topic some people don’t think is worth discussing. They feel like no matter your gender, you can do whatever you have to do in a marriage relationship, as long as it is within your biological capabilities. However, the Bible is very clear on gender roles in marriage. It commands every wife to submit to their husbands, and every husband to love their wives.
Faith Oyedepo has said that submission by a wife to her husband, will trigger genuine care, because submission will compel any husband to care for his wife.
You see, if everyone just plays their gender roles, every marriage will just work fine. This thing is reciprocal in a way. If you do your part, the chances of your partner also doing his or her part will be higher. For example, if the husband loves his wife the way Christ loved the church, the wife is most likely going to submit to him no matter what. And if the wife submits to her husband, he will naturally love her.
Obedience to God’s laws will always be beneficial to all of us. Obey God’s laws concerning gender roles, and your marriage will take a turn for the better. Be blessed.
