The place of passion and genuine zeal in the spiritual walk of a believer cannot be replaced with any other thing. It is sacrosanct. No matter how a believer is infilled with the power of the holy ghost, if s/he lacks the genuine passion to move forward with the things of God, even in the face of deprivations and persecutions, he cannot go far in life. To achieve anything worthwhile spiritually and physically for God, genuine passion and selfless zeal are required.
The lives of the three Hebrews, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego is a very good example of genuine passion and zeal in the walk and work of faith for God. They replied to King Nebuchadnezzar’s command to bow for his golden image with a contradictory jab at Nebuchadnezzar and bold defence of their God. They staunchly stood for the cause of Jehova that, even, if their God fail to help them, they would still not bow for his statue. What a faith!
Bishop Oyedepo of the Winners Chapel Bible Church narrates his beginning in the ministry. He has said during one of his sermons that, while he was still at the budding stage of his walk and work of faith for God, he has been passionately and zealously led to plant a church, while he was yet to be filled with the holy ghost. He was also not yet divinely called into the ministry. But, he had moved on having been driven as a result of his bubbling zeal and passion for God. The Bishop has said frankly that, it was specifically passion that has given him his divine place in destiny.
God is not a man. Hence, everything that pertains to Him does not require plans. He has already prepared everything that is needed to foster His Kingdom. Everything that is being done in heaven is done in the present tense. Heaven is established in the “Now” precepts. Hence, all human beings that would follow Him and work for Him must be ready to do everything promptly. God does not condone laxity nor does He permit anything that has to do with divine orchestrations to be delayed, it must be carried out without hesitations.
No matter how anointed the servant of God who prayed and prophesied positively on anyone, if such a person does not followup with prayers in seriousness, with zeal and passionate projection towards the accomplishment of his destiny, s/he would be surprised that, nothing would happen, despite all the anointed prayers and decrees. Whoever follows God with a staunch and passionate spirit would never regret his/her decision in life. There is no limit to the great achievement that anyone who follows the Lord with great zeal and undiluted passion would have. God does not change. Every jot of His words in the Bible would not go unfulfilled. He has promised that whoever does His work with passion and zeal would be blessed, beyond bounds. All of our decisions for God must be handled promptly.
The prompt response I sit that determines most of our successes with God. As much as the takeoff is the most important area in the field of athletics. All athletes know the importance of the startup and takeoff part of every race. Once you miss the takeoff, after the gun goes off, it is unlikely you would win the race. It takes the grace of God, through a special coincidence for an athlete that misses the takeoff period of a race to eventually win. Every vision is a race, prompt response to the sound of the gun is vital in determining who ends up a prize winner. God always admire anyone who is very prompt to answer His call whenever He calls or expected a believer to move on with the work of the kingdom.
