The devil at a time was among the most respected angels. He was the cherubim in charge of the music to God. As far as praising God and all other several services to the glorification of God is concerned, the archangel Lucifer was the man in charge. But, unfortunately for him, his pride led to his downfall. After this, he became satan, also referred to as the devil. He has plagued several lives before this present age. He is immortal hence, he has lived for centuries. Several evils and calamities have been linked to him. The mere mention of the name Satan does create excessive panic in anyone. He has been a dreadful being, even, without being seen by mortal human beings.

The believers who are genuine and truly standing by God have been given the power and authority over Satan. The death and ascension of Jesus Christ have given man the power to prevail over Satan. Most significantly, the victory of the Lord Jesus Christ, in Mathew 4:4-8, during the period of his temptation by Satan, specifically highlights the failure of Satan over Jesus Christ, which is spiritually an advantageous hedge that Jesus Christ has gained on behalf of man over Satan. Man can now stand tall and declare supremacy and dominance over the powers of Satan.

In respect of this, Dr Paul Eneche of the Dunamis International Church has stressed the advantage of being a believer that has power over Satan. In this, Satan would forever fail in his attacks against anyone who is standing staunchly by God. He further continued that, if the devil was powerful enough, he would have successfully killed him and some other prominent men of God in the nation, but the power of God in their lives has given them the advantage over Satan. The cleric reiterated the mandate of God for his life and specifically the lives of clerics such as Pastor EA Adeboye and Bishop David Oyedepo, who has been in the ministry and has antagonized the activities that are against God but glorifies Satan, for more than 50 years.

Dr Paul Eneche further specifically continued f that, Satan has lost his power over those who are staunchly standing by God. He cannot kill them because God has promised in Psalm 118:17, that they shall not die but live to declare the glorious works of God. The clerics have been involved in several wars against anti fetish activities and had waged spiritual wars against the activities of anti-gospel powers. In all they have recorded victories, having been backed up by the power of God that can save to the uttermost.
