In his sermon during the solemnisation of holy matrimony between former Miss Charity Chidimma Okoh, the daughter of the immediate past Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh, and Mr. Adebowale Fagbemi at the Cathedral Church of The Advent Life Camp, Abuja, Lamido, who spoke on “God’s Design For Marriage,” called on the couple to love themselves and always associate with the things of God, which bring peace to every home, adding that God’s chosen ones manifest their faithfulness for others to emulate.
The Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Most Rev. Henry Ndukuba, joined the couple after counselling them on marrital vows.
The bride’s father, Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh, who described marriage as a very joyful journey, advised the couple to follow God’s manual for marriage, saying that if they insist on their own, nothing would work out, because God’s manual is sweet and smooth.
Former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan who was at the event, also counselled the couple, saying: “My wife and I joined the families of Most Rev’d Nicholas Okoh and Colonel Tunde Fagbemi (rtd) at the solemnisation of the marriage of their children, Chidinma and Adebowale. We wish the couple a happy and successful marriage.”
Other dignitaries that graced the event included the former Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor; Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa and wife, Dame Edith Okowa; the Primate’s wife, Mrs. Angela Ndukuba; Bishops; former Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission, Mr. John Kennedy Okpara; politicians, retired and serving military officers and traditional rulers.
