No laying of hands, no waving of handkerchiefs and other covid 19 instructions for Churches

The government has issued a number of directives Churches must follow if they want to resume church services after June 5, 2020.

Yesterday, President Akufo Addo announced a phased approach to relaxing the restrictions imposed to curb the spread of coronavirus.

Almost 24 hours after the President’s address, the Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Kofi Dzamesi has issued detailed guidelines of what churches must do to ensure that they hold church services without putting people at risk.

The Minister was speaking at a press conference held to issue guidelines to religious bodies.

As part of the measures, churches have been asked to discourage the waving of handkerchiefs, stop hugging and shaking of hands as well as laying of hands.
