OBEDIENCE IN SEASON IS CHEAP BUT OBEDIENCE OUT OF SEASON IS WORK AND THAT IS WHY MANY BELIEVERS RUN AWAY FROM IT.

A GENUINE ENCOUNTER WITH THE WORD IS NOT WHAT YOU WRITE DOWN; IT IS WHAT TRIGGERS YOUR ACTION.

EVERY TRUE ENCOUNTER SETS YOU INTO MOTION. IF YOU ARE NOT IN MOTION, IT IS NOT YET AN ENCOUNTER; IT IS A REVELATION.

OBEDIENCE IS WORK, OBEDIENCE IS NOT CONFESSION.

RECEIVING, BELIEVING AND OBEYING THE INSTRUCTION OF THE WORD IS WHAT MAKES IT WORK.

Shall we give the Lord a big hand of praise tonight and please lift up your two hands and let’s magnify Him; the living Word of God. Let’s exalt the reality of the truth; He exalted His word far above His name. Let’s give thanks to Him for His word that we are privileged to have access to by redemption. Give Him thanks from the depth of your heart.
In Jesus precious name we have given thanks.

• Lord, grant me an unforgettable encounter with Your Word tonight.
  Nothing transforms like a raw encounter with the Word. Lord tonight, grant me a raw encounter with Your Word that will trigger my next level turnaround.
  In Jesus precious name we have prayed.

One genuine encounter with the Word is worth much more than a lifetime of labour. What a lifetime of labour cannot generate, a genuine encounter with God; and let me tell you what a genuine encounter with the Word is; “and the Spirit entered into me when He spake unto me and set me upon my feet to engage it”. An encounter with the Word sets you on your feet to engage it. A genuine encounter with the Word is not what you write down; it is what triggers your actions.

When Matthew 6:33 entered me, I didn’t need any counsel; it stirs me to enter into a covenant with God. Every word that truly enters, you can’t drag – that’s an encounter. It’s not “the preaching was very great”. No! An encounter is what enters you and set you into motion. Please understand the difference Sir, otherwise you’ll just be accumulating notes without anything to show.

• Lord let Your word that set men on their feet enter me. Every time I approach Your Word, let the Word that enters into people and set them into motion be my experience.
  In Jesus precious name we have prayed.

Somebody came here in March this year, 2021. Children have been out of school for two years; he was almost down and out. Heaven directed him here and he just had an encounter with the Word, engaged with it and you heard the live testimony last Sunday, himself and his wife. March, my God, testifying in October. It has become a testimony of reality. That’s what it means to have an encounter with the Word.

There was no self-consolation for me when I encountered the Word on prosperity; life, drivey, restless, taking the world by storm with heaven’s prosperity. That’s the meaning of encounter with the Word. When I heard the Word on church growth, my God, following week, gbam-gboo, gbam-gboo. See where it has brought us to today. Every true encounter sets you into motion. If you are not in motion, it is not yet an encounter; it’s a revelation.

As we conclude this series today, Unveiling the obedience that works, get set for a stirring of your spirit to see every commandment as targeting your better life in the name of Jesus.
Father thank You for tonight, take all the glory in the name of Jesus Christ.

Give the Lord a big hand of praise and please be seated.

Please note that the Word cannot deliver without man’s obedience. You are not ready to repent, there’s no method you can use to be saved. You can be in twenty service groups; it is not equal to salvation. Revelation without application equals frustration; deceiving your own selves because nothing will come out if it. The benefits of the Word cannot be realized without our obedience. “If you will hearken diligently to my voice, observe to do what I command you. I, God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth and all these blessings will come to you and overtake you”. The benefit of the Word is inaccessible without our obedience (Joshua 1:8). If you will be willing and obedience, you will eat the good of the land. If you obey and serve Him, you shall spend your days with prosperity and your years in pleasures.

“Why call ye me Lord, Lord without doing what I tell you to do” (Luke 6:46). Calling me by my name, Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah Shammah, Jehovah Greek, Jehovah Hebrew – you can call any name, it won’t make a difference. There are too many believers without the benefits of redemption seen on their lives because they will not do what they know He commanded them to do. But that’s not you, your story is changing and will keep changing from one level of glory to another.

“Be ye therefore doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves… (James 1:22-25). Obedience is work, obedience is not confession. It’s a profession. You can ask Abraham what it is; he rose up early in the morning and after three days of trekking, at that extreme age, he saw the place afar off. Obedience is work, that’s why many shy away from it. Particularly, obedience out of season. Church Gist. Obedience in season could be very cheap but obedience out of season; when things seem to be out of place and yet, you must not murmur; that’s work. You must not complain; that’s work. You must be grateful; that’s work. They called it sacrifice of praise; that’s work. Nothing seems to be praise worthy around you but you must praise Him or you remain there for life; that’s work. Obedience is work.

You hold your income in your hand, it is less than one-third the needs of the moment and you still must pay tithe; that’s work. The landlord is chasing after you and all that you have can’t handle it and you have come under your own obligation based on the Word to pay your tithe. You paid your tithe and then the landlord calls you and says, “I just had a feeling, you shouldn’t have to pay’. Obedience, particularly out of season.

I had a very strange visitation tonight and I’m going to run through it; I want to do a rundown on what we have mentioned since the month began in this Mid-week series, just line by line to create a reminder for you and you will need it.

1. What is in Obedience?
   Obedience is the only way to prove the validity of any biblical truth. “Oh taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him”.
2. Doing whatever the Word says to do will always commit God to confirm His word in our lives.
   “Fill the waterpots with water, (not put water in the waterpots) fill them and do that in the open right here” and He confirmed His word. “Cast your net into the deep”. He confirmed His word.
3. Passing the obedience test is what enthrones believers in the Kingdom. Abraham passed the test in Genesis 12, Genesis 17, Genesis 22; he was just on top of his world to come, he secured blessings upon his generations forever. Not only enthronement here with army to himself, he still sat on a throne in heaven with Lazarus at his footstool. All enthroned patriachs in scriptures obeyed their way to their enthronement.
   “I will never bow my head to a graven image” enthroned Daniel all through his life in Babylon. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were enthroned in the land via their unreserved obedience.
4. Obedience may be costly but the end result is priceless. Obedience is gateway to a world of supernatural breakthroughs; “do what I said, you will be the head only and not beneath. You will be above only and not beneath. You will lend unto many nations and you shall not borrow”.
   Obedience is gateway to all supernatural manifestations; “you obey me, I will manifest myself to you. Just obey what I asked you to do and watch me manifest myself to you”.

Christ is our perfect example; He became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him”. His obedience provoked supernatural manifestation and gave Him a name above every name (Philippians 2:5-11) – unreserved obedience.

Obedience of faith will always commit God’s integrity to perform. “Go forward”, he went forward and the red sea gave way. We may not have prayed for great things that we’re experiencing in our lives but we must have obeyed ourselves into them. A man that was born blind, forty-year old, just simply obeyed and came back seeing. No word came from his mouth, he just returned with his sight and he began to testify.

Receiving, believing and obeying the instruction of the Word is what makes it works. We serve a covenant-keeping God, not a Father Christmas God; He watches over His word to fulfill it. It is His word that works in us that attracts His hand on our lives and makes us a wonder to our world. Until our part is played for the delivery of any provision of redemption, God is not committed. Where our obedience stops is where his blessings stop (Deuteronomy 28:14-56).
