The departure of prophet T.B Joshua from this earth was interpreted differently by different people. For some, the interpretation was rather negatively inclined – with claims that the Lord took him home so that he does not continue to do damage to the body of Christ. Whereas, others interpreted it positively, to mean that God wanted him to rest from the turmoil in the world. However, regardless of the opinions of people, the opinions and perspectives of God remain the standard for every judgment.

The recently concluded candlelight procession and burial ceremony organized for Joshua reveals how influential he was (both in life and death) to his congregation and many others who just loved his ministry and all he represented. The response from the thousands of people during these events is the kind one gets when one is truly loved and appreciated.
Notwithstanding, anyone who has been in the body of Christ long enough, can discern that the question on people’s lips and minds would most likely be: “will the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) continue to remain relevant, now that the founder is no more?” A very intriguing yet genuine question to ask. However, as I have earlier pointed out, finding out the will of God over any matter is already the solution required, because God’s word superimposes every human question, thought, or assertion.
In my opinion, I believe that SCOAN will continue to remain relevant – even after Joshua’s death – because of these 3 reasons:
1. A Loyal Wife
As a popular philosopher – Shaunti Feldhahn – once said, “Behind every great man is a great woman…there are a lot of (mediocre) men because their wives will not support them.” T.B. Joshua succeeded in ministry because he had a good and loyal wife. Joshua and his wife have been married for 31 years, that’s more than enough time for a woman to have fully understood the purpose of her husband.

How does this translate to the continued relevance of SCOAN?
Over the years, the crowd at SCOAN must have grown to believe in the ministry of Evelyn Joshua, just as much as they believed in T.B. Joshua. So, it is not out of place to believe that the congregants would also follow her, as much as they did the latter. During the recently concluded burial ceremony organized for T.B.Joshua, Evelyn gave a speech and a portion of that speech read: “we will keep the fire burning, we will keep your hopes alive.” This shows the willingness of Evelyn to carry on the mandate of her deceased husband.
2. Loyal Elders and Pastorate
The elders of every ministry constitute an important factor in the growth and stability of that ministry. The loyalty of the elders and pastorate toward the set man of a ministry determines how the congregants would perceive the grace upon his life. Sources gathered that the elders of SCOAN have agreed that the ministry should continue under the leadership of Evelyn Joshua because so much has gone into SCOAN’s building project, that cannot be wasted. This reveals the oneness in the minds of the elders and pastorate of SCOAN, and with this, the ministry can continue its relevance.

3. A proper structure
Everything in life rises and falls based on leadership. For any organization to stand the test of time, there has to be a proper structure already laid down. This is synonymous with an architect’s blueprint or a mason’s foundation. For a ministry that has lasted for more than 30 years and has grown from a handful of members to an admirable numerical strength, one can boldly assert that there is a proper structure on the ground. Taking it one step further, the structure that sponsored the ministry’s relevance these 30 years can still support its relevance 30 years from now.
