The Uk-based pastor and founder of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), London, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo recently hosted his age-long friend, the Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide (aka Winners Chapel International), Dr David Oyedepo in his palatial Lagos home.
In a telephone interview with this reporter who had served under Ashimolowo before, as a minister, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo explained why he was happy to host his friend.
Hear him; “The Bishop and I have come a long way as friends. We first met in 1983 at the Holy Ghost Convention conveyed by Bishop Francis ‘Wale Oke in 1983 in Ibadan where we were both guest speakers, but we didn’t become close friends until 1987.”
“Bishop Oyedepo is a very unique man with deep insights of the Word of God. He’s my friend but I recognise the hand of God upon his life and ministry.”
“Three things I covet in his life are; (1) The way he still goes about his life with simplicity, despite his height of success in life and ministry. (2) His sensitivity to the move of the Holy Spirit in his ministry and (3) his undaunted faith.”
“For those of us who have been his friends for ages, we know that he doesn’t think small, and he would always say things that will challenge our faith. Many of the things he said to us back then have become a reality.”

“And like I said on my Instagram handle, it was a happy time for me hosting him and his wife. It was a time of fellowship, fun, food and friendship.”
“The Bishop is one of the most consistent men of God I ever met,” he concluded.
Oyedepo was accompanied to Ashimolowo’s house by his wife, Pastor Faith Oyedepo.
Also in attendance was Hakeem Ogunniran, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Lagos Investment Company PLC (LBIC).
