Reverend Fada Oluoma Chineye John, a priest of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, in a video he released to his official Facebook account about an hour ago, told his congregation to stop going to prayer as warriors.
According to the clergy, He said all we need as Christian is to have faith in God like a child. He said he once observed that some people go to God in prayers like a warrior. They were thought to go to God in prayers, as warriors, as fighters, and as champions. He sarcastically says, ok, go now, keep fighting.
Fr. Oluoma said that is the reason why many Christians continue fighting all their lives, fighting from one crusade ground to another; fighting with one man of God to another. They are always looking for fighting partners all around the country because of the wrong teaching that they must fight in prayer.
Fr. Oluoma then remarks that if you don’t know your identity in Christ, that is how you will keep fighting in the name of praying.
To prove that fighting all in the name of prayer is wrong, he read ¹John 3:1-2, where the Bible says God lavished great love on us so that we should be called a child of God. He said God has lavished his love on us. We don’t contend to get things from God. He said that is our identity in God.
