We were all trapped inside the Church during the fire outbreak which led to the death of many worshippers

A fire broke out at the Coptic Abu Sifin Church in Giza, Egypt on Sunday which claimed the lives of several worshippers. A victim of the fire outbreak told BBC News how the incident happened while they were inside the church during the worship service.

The man who was seriously injured and lying on the hospital bed said that they were inside the church when they started seeing fumes of fire in the air inside the church hall. They were trapped inside the church due to the heavy stampede that occurred immediately after the fire broke out inside the church.

The man was amongst the people who helped to save some people during the fire outbreak. He said that they tried their best in saving several people during the incident, while they saved some, they couldn’t save some, but they tried their best. And it was reported that at least 5,000 worshipers were in the church when the fire broke out.

Dozens of people lost their lives to the fire outbreak while many were seriously injured and got hospitalized. Those who were hospitalized are in the hospital receiving treatments. Those who died have been buried in mass.
