According to Apostle Joshua Selman, the bible does not give a specific formula for finding a wife, but there are spiritual guidelines to follow when you are looking for a soul mate.
1. The man must search for a wife.
Whilstreading Proverbs 18:22, he said: “The scripture says he that finds a wife, finds a good thing and obtains favour from the Lord. This entails that there must be an action on the part of the man. He must “find” a wife for himself. He said: “You are not going to sit down and wait for a woman to come to you, you must take action regardless of whether you saw a vision or not.”
2. There must be compatibility.
Taking his reading from Amos 3:3, he said: “If you are looking for a wife, look for the one that you are compatible with. Let there be similarities in your ideologies about God, culture, money, life, parenting, ministry and many other spheres of life.
Two can only walk together when there are compatible. Whether you saw a vision about her or not, if the two of you are not compatible don’t make the mistake of asking her to marry you.”
3. Seek God’s face.
Reading Proverbs 19:3, he encouraged his members to never forsake the face of God when seeking for a life partner. ” A prudent wife and a prudent husband is from the Lord. Any body can change, you do not know what the future holds that is why you must seek God regarding who you should marry. Involve God, not only in the aspect of marriage but in every area of your life,” he said.
He concluded by saying that not everyone will receive a vision regarding who to marry. In as much as some may see, some people may not. So these guidelines should be followed in order to get the best of marriage.
