Good day wonderful readers, I will list the 5 old beliefs of Deeper Life Church Members, that they later abandoned, so relax and read carefully.
We all know that Deeper life Bible Church is one of the churches in Nigeria that maintained holiness and righteousness as they we’re blessed with a powerful man of God, Pastor WF Kumuyi.
However, old life and things are fading away, as it is no longer how it is before, many things have changed in the church today. So in this article, i will be listing some of the things deeper life church once believed and held so much on that they’ve abandoned today.
Some of these things they abandoned are:
1: Television.
During those days in Deeper Life, television and anything that relates to it was seen as a taboo.
In those days, deeper life church tagged television as “the box of the devil” and members of the church were strictly warned against Tv, video cameras in wedding and so on, this is quite hilarious. In deeper life church today, now have thousands of television in their various churches for live transmissions. Video cameras are also now been used during events by members of the church, there is no single deeper life church that has no television and cameras inside the church.
2: Be happy when you are sick.
Recall that pastor kumuyi once advised people In one of the old messages, that christians should be happy when they are sick because it should be a thing of joy when it is time to cross over to the other side of eternity I.e heaven, if you are a deeper life member, you will understand what am saying.
But recently, Pastor kumuyi now pray against death of members of the church and also organizes monthly programs and crusades against every form of sickness and disorders.
He also encourages his pastors to have some time to rest to prevent deaths and illness from overstress.
3: Wearing of suits.
This is very important in the those days, infact wearing of suit to church is highly prohibited, they believed against wearing suits to church. They preferred wearing shirt and trousers.
It is quite hilarious, but the mindset later changed chamged when pastor Kumuyi dressed with suit and tie on one occasion, and that probably changed to his permanent mode of dressing, so all the members of deeper life no water suit as they want.
4: Building of schools by the church.
In those days It was believed that the church never intended to build any university or schools in the past so that Members can spread and shine as salts in the world rather than been confined in a given location. But today deeper life church now has many secondary schools (Deeper life high schools) and a university (anchor university) in Nigeria.

Please we should be very careful about things we post or better still,be very sure of them.
The use of television then was one of the listed points that’s true because of the immoral movies they act, but as technology is improving,can all tell that video camaras are needed for so many events, besides those things on the TV are now everywhere.
There is never a time pastor kumuyi preached against putting on suit. Or can you give us a reason for that?
You also talked about being happy when you are sick,I think we should please understand certain things before trying to make it public. Remember Paul the apostle said “for me to die is gain”. Some people when they are sick are always afraid of dying, so pastor Kumuyi is trying to say here that once we know where we are going to (heaven), we should be comforted and happy to meet with the lord, not being happy because you are sick….who does that?
