What Long Life Truly Means – Pastor Kumuyi

In a recent combined service with his church members, Pastor W.F Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, spoke about “Our Glowing Privileges From Grace To Glory.” He read Psalm 90:10 in the Bible, which says

“The days of our ten years are threescore years and ten; and if they are fourscore years by reason of strength, yet is their strength labor and sorrow; for it is quickly cut off, and we go away.”

The man of God explained the preceding text by saying that a score is 20, which means three scores equal 60, and 10 is added to equal 70. Despite the fact that this passage says that our years are 70 days long, the man of God remarked that we should not read only one portion of the Bible text and ignore the other part, which says, “With long life will I satisfy him,” (Psalm 91: 16). He said that the chapter in question is a Psalm of Moses, who began his own career at the age of 80 and lived for 120 years.

Caleb was 85 years old when he asked Joshua to “Give me this mountain,” while Joshua was close to 100 years old when God told him he still had a lot more territory to possess. When John the Beloved received the Divine Revelation for the churches, he was between the ages of 90 and 95.

The man of God, on the other hand, dubbed the third half of his third point “The Astonishing Promise to Affirmed Saints,” and went on to explain what it meant to live a long life. He said that Jesus Christ died for humanity on the cross and declared, “It is finished.” “Long life” means completing everything the Lord has assigned to you, according to the priest. After serving his generation, David died at the age of 70. Moses died at the age of 120, having begun his ministry at the age of 80. Joshua died at the age of 110 after completing all of God’s tasks for him. He told his members, on the other hand, not to question when someone dies because it is their own time. “As for you, your awards await you when you complete and depart this world,” he said.
