As Christians, we need to take the service of God as a priority on a daily basis. We should see it as a sacrifice and the way of respecting is ordinances. Unfortunately, people take the service of God with levity and God is definitely not happy with them. If you cannot take God seriously then he will not take you seriously because his word says that “I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy on.”
However, Pastor David Oyedepo Jr also spoke about the importance of serving God during the Covenant Hour of prayer. He Is a servant of God and he advised and encouraged his members to take up that mantle and give God the ultimate service. Here are 5 things he said about serving God:
1. It is not expertise in asking that guarantees answers. It is your access to the altar of prayer that guarantees answers.
2. When a man or woman begins serving God in turning many to righteousness, they are classified as the wise and the wise in scriptures inherit glory, and the glory that comes upon the wise makes them stars forever and ever.
3. When a man begins to go after souls serving God, such an individual becomes a candidate for the glory of God. There is a posture you put yourself in with God that God begins to respond to you with speed. There are things that you even think, that He responds to.
4. God has given man the power of choice. Serving God is not by force, serving God is ultimately a choice but it is the choice of the wise.
5. When a man begins to seek after God; when a man’s heart begins to pant after God, he no longer needs to struggle for heaven’s response.
In conclusion, we should obey the great commission and give more energy to the service of God. We should make him a priority in our lives and put him above everything and He will not disappoint us.
