“God did not expect women to be subject to men; rather, a woman should be obedient to one man,” says the proverb. – Apostle Suleman

Apostle Suleman, a well-known Nigerian preacher, has provided a fuller explanation of how the Bible views women’s submissiveness. He claimed that, in the Bible as well, God did not command women to submit to men, but rather that wives submit to their husbands. Accordingly, a woman can only be obedient to her husband and no other men. Watch the video here.

He continued by saying that you shouldn’t expect a lady to be submissive during a courtship if you haven’t yet married her. She can simply respect you, which is not the same as submitting to you. A woman is not expected to be subordinate to her employer, who likely has a wife at home while the woman has a husband at home, he noted. Instead, respect is required in this situation.

He made the remark in response to the reality that some guys threaten women in order to get them to submit. As a result, these guys ought to be aware that Ephesians 5:22 commands women to submit to their husbands rather than to men. She can only respect and honor men.

While submitting to husbands is expected, women should practice respect for others since doing so will make it easier for them to be obedient in marriage.
