During the crossover service at Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo gave the members of his church 9 instructions they should obey, if they wanted to see the theme of the year actualized in their lives. Today, he continued his message, giving 5 more instructions for his members to obey in 2022.
In his message titled “Towards Actualizing Your Birthright As More Than A Conqueror”, he stated that there is always something you must do if you want to see God’s blessings. He said that most believers fail to see what God has promised them because they are too lazy to accept responsibility and find out their part of the deal, as God is a covenant keeping God, and not a Father Christmas.
The five more instructions he gave to his members are;
1) He commanded them to be committed to building their faith. He stated that it was impossible to please God without faith, and that is why every believer must build their faith. Yes, every believer has been given a measure of faith at salvation, but he said that increasing your faith is important because little faith is limited in the results it can achieve. For example, he said little faith cannot cross the Red Sea, conceive at old age, stop the mouth of lions or even quench the fiery furnace. He said that in order to grow your faith, you should be committed to Bible study and meditation of the word of God, as well as listening to anointed messages.
2) He commanded them to be committed to a lifestyle of delightsome obedience. He described the obedience Abraham had as perfect obedience. Abraham did not question God whenever God gave him instructions, and that gave him the opportunity to experience God’s sworn blessings. He reminded everybody that delayed obedience is the same thing as disobedience.
3) He commanded them to be committed to engaging in prayers of enquiry. The prayer of enquiry is the type of prayer that you should pray if you need direction. It entails asking God questions. The Bishop gave the example of David when he wanted to fight the Philistines. David did not assume that the strategy he used the first time would work. He still prayed the prayer of enquiry and God gave him another strategy to defeat the Philistines. He said that it is wisdom to ask for help, and he admonished his congregation to take advantage of the upcoming 21 days of prayer and fasting to engage the prayer of enquiry.
4) He commanded them to be committed to growing their love for God. He reminded them that eyes have not seen, and ears have not heard, and it hasn’t entered the minds of anybody, the things God has prepared for them that love him. He told his congregation that if they claim to love God, they should do things to prove their love for God.
5) Finally, he commanded them to be committed to a lifestyle of thanksgiving and praise.
