“Don’t Say Your Church Is Better Than Any Church, Every Church Has Its Mission” – Bishop David Oyedepo

Bishop David Oyedepo, the General Overseer of the Living Faith Church Worldwide spoke to his members about the need to win souls, evangelize and sow seeds. He said that no Church grows without people on the go. It is people on the go that grow a Church. Whether formally or informally somebody must become an attraction for someone else to come.

He said that just like in marketing, aggressive marketing is key to making sales of any product no matter the quality. You must return with souls today. It reflects in the way you communicate the gospel. The compassion that grips you, the love oozing out of you in reaching out to those people. He said in one of his books that when your thirst becomes a necessity, all your senses will come alive and you will engage all righteous strategies to get results.

According to him, We must also understand that no matter the quality of the seed sown, it takes watering for it to grow. A seed that is sown without water dies in the ground. While we go about sowing the word by reaching out to the lost, we must engage in watering that seed on the altar of prayer. So our senior citizens have that responsibility, people that don’t have the privilege of moving about have the responsibility of watering the seed sown on the altar of prayer.

He claimed that Soul winners use one hand in building, the other hand in holding the spear to cut off the enemy from uprooting the seed planted. So watering is a must for our seed to grow. Going out without prayer backup can make it a wasteful endeavour. No seed, no matter the quality, will die in the ground without water. God cannot bring increase until the seed is planted and watered (1 Corinthians 3:8).

He further revealed that aggressiveness doesn’t mean we should become a nuisance to the souls – calling at odd times and visiting anytime and breaking the peace of the home. Our politeness has a lot to do with securing souls into the Kingdom. He said that you don’t move to a place without an appointment. We must engage the wisdom of heaven in securing results on the harvest field.

Finally, he advised that you should never get involved in saying your Church is better than any Church because every Church has its mission. Face your mission. He said that their mission is to stop the tears of mankind. What they are marketing is coming and see how Jesus liberates people in their Church. “It is the same Church of Jesus, your Church is not better than another man’s Church,” he said.
