How to Reign, Remain Relevant and Successful in Life and Ministry – Apostle Joshua Selman

One of the major secret to remain relevant and successful in life or/and ministry is called brokenness. Brokenness is a sign that must be around the life of a believer that shows that such a person is a man/woman of the secret place. The secret place is a place where a believer x-rays his/her heart before the Lord for proper vetting and repositioning. The first sign that is an attestation of a healthy secret place is called Genuine brokenness, in order of priority, it’s not an Anointing. The degree to whicht self is put to death in you, is a proof that you have met with God. There are things God can’t allow to go back with you when you meets him. The level of the damage on your flesh can show that one has met God. If the flesh still stands and gains ascendancy, is not God you met. Genuine brokenness is not power, anointing, ministry, sermon, revelation, impartation or prophecies. 

According to Psalm 51:17,”[17]My sacrifice [the sacrifice acceptable] to God is a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart [broken down with sorrow for sin and humbly and thoroughly penitent], such, O God, You will not despise”. This tells us that the strength of God never comes to strong people, it searches for weakness. When the strength of God comes and finds you strong, it goes back and wait until the day your strength disappoints, then your weakness calls it to come. 

Brokenness is a proof of humility. For instance, David in the bible was a man whose life is a great inspiration. There is a reason why God loved him so much. David would go to God in the secret place, telling God to search his heart, try his thoughts, create a system of vetting my motives and if there is anything found that is not you, I permit you Lord to do away with it. Lack of genuine brokenness is the reason why many people raised into influence are up today and down tomorrow. When you see a man becomes proud, pompous, dishonoring and careless with life, is a proof that he/she has been absent from the secret place for a long time. When going into the secret place, you don’t go there as a man of God, you go there and allow the Lord of Host to pass his light through the darkness of your heart and not to condemn you but to change everything contrary to His will. For instance, when you meet God and He begins to tell you, ” I see that for the last 2 weeks, lust is beginning to grow in you or I see in your life that since the prophetic grace comes upon your life, pride is peaking up, i need to reveal it here or I noticed persecution is coming, there is offence growing in your heart already and something must be done about it”. Then God will bring you to a point, were He asked, “What can we do about it”, Then you go down on your knees and say to the Lord, “Who can help me, when the God of heaven does not help me”. Mind you, this has nothing to do with backsliding but it is a system by which men reign, remain relevant and successful in a generation. So when men are clapping for you outside, you are at your secret place securing your future through brokenness. The devil has nothing to do with a man who is broken already. Every evil thrives on pride, it is very difficult for God to ignore a broken man. Failure doesn’t produce failure, failure is the mother that gives birth to success. It is success that produces failure. 

One must be very careful when things begins to work, because that’s where failure creeps in. When the ministry is growing, the applauds are coming, grace is speaking, when the inffluence is multiplying, weakness and death is by the corner. The temptation of great men is to fall down. For instance, when Satan took Jesus Christ to the Holy mountain, His temptation was to fall down, after all the angels will hold Him. The temptation of the great is to be careless and fall. It is paramount as a believer to hold this secret firmly, to avoid aborting what God desire to do in his/her life because it is not enough to be available, one must be usable, because there are many vessels that are unto honor and dishonor. The condition is not fasting, but if a man will purge himself then that man will be a vessel unto honor meets for the master’s use. This is called Brokenness.

 Brokenness is a vital realm where people last in life and ministry, if a believer goes to God as a colleague or as a man of God, such a person will never rise. Hear this: It is harder to remain successful than it is to become successful especially when a generation looks at you as a voice. It is a serious burden. Most people don’t know the burden of greatness, it takes stamina to remain great or carry greatness because all hell is waiting for something to happen. Those who your greatness is killing their excuses are watching, hoping that you will come down in order to justify their sayings that all men are the same. There are all kinds of prophecies in the air waiting for your weakness to confirm it.

Greatness is a realm where one must be trained to remain, a path so slippery. There is a skill to remain great, is not desire but genuine brokenness. As a believer or man of God who is broken, you reached a point where everything you do is considered as a direction from God including your mistakes. Brokenness is a point where you access yourself in the light of purity and sincerity by saying to God, “search my heart, try my thoughts”. The applauds of men are a weapon of mass destruction, they can clap a person to the grave prematurely. As an upcoming believer or man of God, celebrate success but do it with intelligence.

The secret place is a place of brokenness, you can’t walk with God when you are complete. God does not use complete men. When He comes into your life, he breaks you so He can enter into your life through that door of weaknesses in your life. As the scriptures reveals in Gen 32:24-32, in the life of Jacob who wants to be used by God. God told him, you are standing in the strength of yourself, I must do something in you that reminds you that without me you are not complete and God touched his thigh. One could wonder why God should make Jacob to be limping all through his life, but is a reminder to Jacob, that without God, he is nothing. When you see God use a man, ask for the stories not the results. 

As a believer, your earnest prayer should be a cry for mercy every moment because God is a God who shows mercy to men, show me mercy from the abundance of your heart. There are realms a person would get to in Christ, you don’t need to ask God for tea and bread because it would have been solved. The main cry should be a cry of genuine brokenness,” Lord take away pride, lust because too many people are depending on this your ability in my life, there is no room for me to fail”. Even our Lord Jesus Christ, almost gave up at Gethsemane but brokenness brought him back by saying, nevertheless, not my will but your will be done. 

Now receive this prayers in the name of Jesus Christ by laying your right hand on your head: 

i. Father thank you for your word in the name of Jesus Christ.

ii. Father, as you lift me in life, destiny and ministry, any door which will be open onto me that will crash me down, may it never open in the name Jesus christ.

iii. Father, give me a divine encounter with the Holy spirit that will keep me broken through out my life time in the name Jesus christ. Amen…
