Leke Adeboye, the son of RCCG General Overseer Pastor E.A. Adeboye, has condemned a branch of the church that launched an online dating site.
Ob360 Media reported earlier that the Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of David Parish had launched an online dating platform for mature singles in the church.
Idowu Iluyomade, the parish’s senior pastor, announced in a forum that the platform would be launched.
While speaking at the forum, Pastor Iluyomade encouraged singles to interact and create an environment in which they could make decisions about life partners.
He did, however, state that those who connect must exercise caution.
When a single woman or young man registers on the site, their information must still be processed before they can be approved.
In response to the news, Leke took to Instagram and shared photos of couples who met the “old fashioned way.”
According to the pastor, Christians do not need dating apps because prayer and the Holy Spirit are sufficient for brothers and sisters looking for each other to find each other.
