THE DANGERS IN ERROR CORRECTING MINISTRY

One of the most dangerous ministries to run is the “ministry of error correction”. It always sounds very logical, plausible and rational to do that, given the enormity of problems in the body of Christ. Regardless of this, there is no ministry of error correction in the bible. You will eventually and inescapably assume the office of the Holy Spirit and would ruin yourself. 

What am i saying? Error correction must never be your main focus, but the preaching of the gospel. THERE IS NO ONE I KNOW WHO MADE “ERROR CORRECTION” THEIR MAIN MINISTRY WHO DIDN’T EVENTUALLY GO INTO MUCH WORSE ERRORS THAN THE PEOPLE BEING CORRECTED. The reason is simple. You are walking outside of your scope. Our scope is to make the teaching of the truth our main focus, and then where necessary, make any relevant corrections as led by the Holy Spirit. 

There is this fellow that has made error correction his main focus. Of course, i have never seen him teach or preach the gospel. What he does is to pick on messages preached by other people and criticize them. Why? It is easy to pull down a house than to build. 

Why don’t you organize a live teaching seminar on John Chapter 6 and teach the body of Christ for 1 hr? No, he has never done that, because it’s far easier to pull people down than to build them up. Satan is a grand crafty being. He will make you think that you are the perfect, all-knowing, never-failing believer whom God has raised up to correct others, but only to come back for you, pulling you into deeper and much worse errors. 

As at today, this person i am talking about is teaching that, “Jesus is not the only savior of the world” and a lot of other, tear-producing occultic teachings. That is always the situation. If there are errors in the body of Christ, set up series of teaching seminars and teach us the truth, using scriptures as the basis, so that we all can learn. Don’t make the teaching people based, make it principle based. 

That is what will produce a more lasting impact on the body of Christ. Don’t forget, no one can love the gospel more than the one who died for the gospel. Regardless of the problems in the body of Christ, which i myself is gravely troubled about, our role is to focus more on teaching and living the truth, and when correcting, corrections must be done in love and must never engender the destruction and ridicule of the people in error.
