Meet Ola Olukoyede, the RCCG Pastor Who Might Succeed Embattled EFCC Boss, Ibrahim Magu (Photos)
There are unofficial reports that the embattled Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, has been suspended by President Muhammad Buhari due to the ongoing investigation about the conduct of the anti-graft agency boss.
Magu was invited to the Banquet Hall in the Presidential Villa on Monday afternoon, he faced disciplinary committee set up by the Federal Government to look into corruption and misconduct allegations leveled against him.
The panel which is headed by retired Justice Ayo Salami extends the questioning to Tuesday afternoon.
The panel recommended that the embattled Acting Chairman be suspended from his position in order to give room for proper and undiluted investigation.
Multiple media reports said President Muhammad Buhari has suspended Magu from the office but no official statement at the time of this report.
However, if Magu was truly suspended as EFCC Boss, the most senior official in Pastor Ola Olukayode.
He is the Secretary of the EFCC and the next most senior officer who should take over from Magu.
Ola Olukoyede hails from Ekiti State and he is a pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
However, the pastor is not an operative officer, this might be the reason why he will be deprived of the position by President Muhammad Buhari.
The most senior operative officer is Mohammed Abba who is the Head of Operations in the commission.
The Presidential is yet to release an official statement on the new development, many Nigerians are still waiting for the President’s final decision.
