“When they are discussing money matters in the church, people will be saying that they are supposed to be talking about heaven” – Apostle Suleman Reveals How The Church Is Cheated

Apostle Johnson Suleman, while preaching spoke about One way the world is cheating the church. 

He said, “When they are discussing money matters in the church, people will be saying that they are supposed to be talking about heaven. 

The world is pursuing wealth while they feel that the church should be pursuing poverty.”He then read the book of Psalm 24:1 which says, “The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

According to him, the popular song, “You take the whole world and give me Jesus” is a poverty song. Everything that belongs to God, you are saying that the world should take it. 

He then said that what God is against is when you rate money more than Him; what God is against is when you are ready to do anything for money and when you go outside Him for money. God does not hate you for having money. Money is not the root of evil; it is the love of money that is the root of evil.

He then said that riches is a spirit while work is to eat. “Don’t let anybody tell you that if you want to be rich, go and work. I am not against work but know that it is not what brings wealth. 

There is a spirit of riches. When it locates a person, he becomes outstanding in his generation,” he said. So riches does not come because you understand life so much. There are many articulate professors who are stranded. 

There are many teachers who are rich and there are some who are rich. There are tattered and chartered accountants. It is not the profession but the spirit of riches.

He then said that when the woman broke the alabaster box at Jesus’ feet, one of the reasons why the disciples were angry was because it was expensive. 

I expected Jesus to think like some Church folks who would say, “Expensive perfume? No now” They broke it at Jesus’ feet and he approved it. 

He said, “leave her alone” when a person is blessed, don’t tell them how to use it. Poverty makes you spend people’s money for them in your mind. One of the things riches deal with is poverty. Body odour is better than poverty odour.

Finally, he said, “Riches is also attracted by Grace. “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” 2 Corinthians 8:9 Poverty is not of God but riches is a function of Grace. Poverty is a bad advertisement. Christianity is a journey but money makes your trip smooth.
