Jesus healed 91 Covid-19 cases in our Church; So why Keep the Churches Closed – Bishop Oyedepo

The founder and president of Living Faith Church International, Bishop David Oyedepo, emphasized the need for the churches across the nation to be opened. He said this on Sunday, June 7, during the church service which was broadcast from the church’s headquarter at Canaan Land, Ota, Ogun State.

It could be recalled that the governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, last week said suggested guidelines are being reviewed on the reopening of the religious centres in the state. He mentioned that religious leaders and sub- committee are reviewing the guideline which is to be submitted by June 12, so that religious activities can commence tentatively on June 19 in the state.

Although the terms and the guidelines for the reopening of the worship centres have not been officially announced, it was however rumoured that part of the suggestion was to exclude people of 65 years and above from going to the worship centres since they are more prone to developing complications from COVID-19, if infected. It was also mentioned that church services may not hold more than an hour.

Bishop Oyedepo, who expressed his dissatisfaction with the proposed guideline, called for its review. He reminded the officials that there is no law in the country that defines who can go to church and mosques or who cannot go. Or a law that states how long a worshiper can stay in the church.

The Bishop exposited that in as much as people go to the markets to get food, they should not be deprived of going to church which offers them spiritual food. In his words

” Nobody wants people under him to die but not at the expense of their lives. Nothing kills like hunger in terms of terminal death. Taking people away from their spiritual meal is deadly. Many churches do not have any platforms whatsoever to reach their members. You can imagine the starvation. Many cannot read bible because they are illiterate. It is not their fault, they are not privileged to. He also shared testimonies of how God healed people with HIV- AID, raised the dead, turned SS to AA, and how 91 cases of the dreaded COVID-19 were healed across 14 nations of the world.

The bishop then prayed God’s wisdom for the leaders of the country so He can keep guiding their steps and for fear not to engulf their decisions.
