ITV reported that Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, unexpectedly showed up at the gates of Windsor Castle on Saturday to see the thousands of floral tributes left by the public in honor of the late queen. The couple’s appearance was a result of the rift between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Harry’s wife, and the royal family since the latter’s decision to break away from the family and move to California.
The Telegraph called it “the first hint of a healing of the divide that has arisen since the Sussexes departed the working royal family in January 2020.”
The newspaper reported that Prince William, the new successor to the throne following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, had invited Harry and Meghan to accompany him on a walkabout in Windsor so that they could share their recollections of the late monarch with the locals.
The longest-reigning British monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, passed away on Thursday at the age of 96 in her Scottish vacation home, Balmoral Castle.
At 11 a.m. local time in London, Westminster Abbey will host the queen’s state funeral. During her reign, she presided over the Church of England.
This year, it happened on September 19th.
The two brothers were reportedly making hasty trips to Balmoral Castle as news of the queen’s health deteriorated, according to BBC royal writer Sean Coughlan.

For the sake of my generation, I’d like to express our gratitude to her for setting an exemplary standard of public service and personal dignity that transcends time.
Grief, my grandmother often remarked, is the price we pay for love.
All the tears we shed over the next few weeks will be a memorial to how much we adored our remarkable monarch.

On Friday, during his first speech to the nation as king, Charles spoke of his admiration for Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan.
According to The Times, King Charles said, “I want also to express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to establish their life overseas.”
