Age, Ministry, and Biography of Segun Obe
Psalmist and renowned artist Samuel Olusegun Adepelehinde Obe, also known as “Segun Obe,” has won numerous awards.
He has performed on stage alongside renowned gospel performers like Dr. Panam Percy Paul, Lionel Peterson, Donnie McClurkin, Kirk Franklin, Kurt Carr, Jonathan Nelson, Micah Stampley, and others while ministering in various nations around the world.
With numerous choirs, including The Winners Chapel Choirs in Lagos and Lanham, he has served as voice coach and worship leader (U.S.A.).
He currently leads praise and worship at Four Square Gospel Church and House on the Rock’s Lagos Metropolitan Gospel Choir. He has also worked as a voice coach for Holyghost Christian Center choirs in churches in New Jersey and Lagos as well as with Harvesters International Christian Center’s “exalted tribe” in gbagada Lagos, Nigeria.
He as well spent a year as a voice coach with The Voice of His light choir of the Guiding light assembly in ikoyi Lagos. He also spent two months between June and July 2016 working with the Healing Streams choir at the Daystar Christian Center, which is led by pastor Sam Adeyemi.
He has many awards to his credit,some of which include:
- The 2006 Christian Music Achievement Awards’ best male vocalist
- He received recognition as one of the top 100 young leaders in Nigeria from “Brand-it Nigeria.”
- 2011 and 2013 Nigerian Gospel Music Awards’ best male vocalist
- 2011’s Best Male Gospel Artiste of the Year is recognized by Kingdom Africa.
- The 2013 Crystal Awards for best male vocalist
- He also has a number of other honors to his name.
Segun Obe has performed at THE EXPERIENCE, an annual event hosted by his home church, HOUSE ON THE ROCK, where he led the Nigerian National Anthem for the 2019 edition among notable local and international gospel artists.
Segun also organizes the popular “VOICE IT OUT” workshop for seasoned and aspiring singers, which has been held for three years running. Since then, he has released singles like “Aka,” “God Dey,” “UNQUESTIONABLE,” another single titled “LIKE NO ONE CAN,” another single titled “WA,” and his most recent effort, “WA,” which was produced by Wilson Joel.
