A pastor has been arrested on charges of allegedly raping a family member starting from the age of 7 and continuing for at least 600 times. It is also reported that the victim became pregnant as a result of these incidents.

Bishop Robert L. Carter, who is a husband, father of four, and holds a high-ranking position in the International Bible Way Church of Jesus Christ, Inc., USA, has been arrested on charges of allegedly raping a family member. The alleged incidents occurred over a period of time, starting when she was just 7 years old. It is also claimed that he impregnated her as a teenager and coerced her into giving up their child.

According to KPRC 2, a person named Carter, who is 39 years old, was arrested on Monday. They have been charged with sexual assault of a child between the ages of 14 and 17, as well as continuous sexual abuse of a child.

According to court documents cited by the news outlet, it is claimed that Carter started mistreating a member of his own family in 2008. It is alleged that he would supposedly go to the child’s room every night and force her to engage in a sexual act with him. As the victim grew older, it is alleged that Carter escalated his sexual abuse in various locations, including his own home, a parking lot before taking her to school, and even at his grandmother’s house.

When the victim reached the age of 16, a warrant was issued for Carter’s arrest. According to the warrant, it was alleged that the victim became pregnant and gave birth to Carter’s baby in secret. The father of the victim, who preferred to remain anonymous, informed KPRC2 that Carter took the baby from the teenager and then proceeded to give the child away.

“What if she would’ve died that night? She had that baby in the closet, by herself. He came and got the baby and took the baby to a fire station and dropped the baby off,” the father said.

The victim’s father said his daughter was so damaged by the abuse, she once ended up in a psychiatric hospital.

“She’s had an episode where she ended up in the hospital for psychiatric reasons,” he said while noting his shock at Carter abusing his daughter as a child.

“How? How could you even get aroused? It doesn’t make any sense,” the distraught father said.

The person who was harmed by the pastor is now attempting to regain custody of her child.

The Christian Post tried to contact the International Bible Way Church of Jesus Christ, Inc., USA., where Carter is still listed as a leader on their website, but they did not respond on Monday.

According to the pastor’s profile on the Black Preaching Network, he is recognized for his expertise in church planting, development, and church administration.

In a message from 2015, Carter talked about a passage from the Bible, specifically Romans 7, where he expressed his concerns about the dangers of giving in to his desires.

“I can’t be caught up in my flesh because I heard it say that no good thing dwells in my flesh,” he said in a video clip from the spirited message he delivered on Facebook approximately one year before the victim gave birth.

“I need you to understand that it is not about my flesh because my flesh causes me to do the things that I would not do. Paul said the good that I would I just can’t seem to do because he said whenever I [go to do good] evil is always present because I’m in my flesh,” he said. “Your flesh will send you right to Hell. Your flesh will get yourself in trouble.”
