Why Did Jesus Cry Instead Of Rejoicing With The People Of Jerusalem? – Pastor D.K Olukoya Clarifies.

During a sermon titled “This Thy Day” at the Wednesday Manna Water Service, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, the General Overseer of Mountain Of Fire And Miracle Ministries, shared his insights on why Jesus cried instead of rejoicing with the people of Jerusalem.

He believes that there is a special day in a person’s life that only happens once, and it is remembered as a significant event in the heavens. This day is never repeated. If you miss that day, you’ll miss out on your destiny. Jesus came near the city of Jerusalem. He was able to see the people cheering for him, singing, and laying branches on the path. However, when he got closer, instead of joining in the celebration, he began to cry.

He was reading the book of Luke, specifically chapter 19, verses 41 to 44. In these verses, it says, “As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it and said, ‘If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace.'” But now they are hidden from your sight…

He added, “He started crying because He came close to those He desperately wanted to help, but they would not receive His help. He looked over the whole group of people gathered there. His heart broke, and he started crying because He knew what was to come. And then His word rang out, saying, “If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.”

Finally, he prayed, “May you not miss your day of glory, in the name of Jesus. May you not miss the day of your divine encounter, in the name of Jesus.”
