God was the only one who could have told Abraham and Sarah that they would have kids that old. It took place because God said so. This is God’s power. John the Baptist spent a significant portion of his ministry in the region of Parea, which was under the rule of Herod, specifically on the east bank of the Jordan River. After John was imprisoned, Jesus decided to continue his ministry in Herod’s territory of Galilee. This move was seen by Herod as both a challenge and a threat. Mary Magdalene remained dedicated to Jesus’ ministry, even though there were risks involved.

The New Testament holds a high regard for women, which may not be reflected in certain societies’ cultures. An instance of this is when Jewish women were not allowed to engage in public speaking. In the past, according to the oral law, there was a prohibition against women reading the Torah aloud. In the past, worship in synagogues was segregated, and unfortunately, women were never given the opportunity to have their voices heard. Jesus treated women in a very different way. A really interesting example is the conversation between Jesus and a Samaritan woman, which took place in public as described in the book of John, chapter 4. According to the rabbinic oral law, it was stated clearly that engaging in public conversations with women can lead to negative consequences. In Jesus’ time, there was another rabbinic teaching that was quite prominent. It stated that one should not even greet a woman. We can understand why His disciples were amazed when they saw Him talking to a woman in public. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. In the Bible, we come across Mary on three separate occasions.
The first one is mentioned in Luke 10:38-42, where Jesus and His disciples were being hosted at Mary’s home, along with her sister Martha. Her most recognized feature is likely this one. Jesus praised her for making a wise choice. He meant that Mary’s decision to be close to him and listen attentively to his words was more valuable than busying herself with meal preparations. Jesus also mentioned that Mary’s choice to learn from the Lord and focus on the better thing would not be taken away from her. She placed Christ as her top priority in life, focusing on knowing Him and being close to Him, recognizing that these choices will have lasting significance throughout eternity.
