The Life Story of Prophet Sadhu Sundar Selvaraj

Prophet Sundar Selvaraj, who was born on March 17th, was brought up in a devoted Hindu household. He has a younger brother and two sisters. His father changed his status to lay priest when he was around seven years old.

He became a devoted Hindu after following in his father’s footsteps as the first-born male kid. He devoted himself to mantra studies and was skilled at doing pujas (religious ceremonies). He even performed a three-year kavadi, a Hindu form of penance. When he was about 16 years old, there arose a question in his heart about karma, life after death and nirvana. He sought the favours of the Hindu deities through fasting, penances and pujas, to be set free from the cycle of rebirth and to be one with Brahma – the union with the cosmic energy. But all his efforts were futile. After six months of fervent futile prayers, he came to the conclusion that he had been fated to be reincarnated again and again in this world due to his bad karma. 

He went to a religious-science talk at a public auditorium about this time in June 1978. The topic of evolution was discussed by the eminent speaker. Young Sundar was very interested in science and wanted to be a neurosurgeon. The speaker spent a half-hour discussing evolution before contrasting it with the science of God’s creation. Sundar was interested in science, but he wasn’t keen on hearing about Jesus Christ. According to the speaker, a person may only be freed from sin and the circle of death by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ because of God’s immense love for mankind, which led Him to become a man and die on the cross for the sins of the entire world.

Following the speech, the speaker invited anybody who wanted to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior to approach the stage. As a devout Hindu, Sundar resisted the impulse to move forward even though he felt the need. He heard a voice speaking to him clearly and audibly out of nowhere. A voice said, “The real God is this one.” “Proceed to follow him.” The voice that beckoned Sundar to move ahead and accept the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior and God astounded him. He disregarded the voice. The voice, on the other hand, kept repeating itself, like a cassette player on auto reverse. “The real God is this one.” “Proceed to follow him.” Then, Sundar had another paranormal encounter. He felt the chair he was sitting on start to tremble.

It appeared as though the chair was telling him to get up and leave. He firmly grasped the chair’s handles and would not budge.

The voice continued to repeat itself throughout. “The real God is this one.” Simply follow him. Sundar was now going through two strange supernatural occurrences. He suddenly felt a genuine, solid hand underneath his back without any prior notice. He was gently helped to his feet by a hand. Sundar ceased resisting out of confusion. The invisible but actual hand then took hold of his hand and brought him tenderly down three flights of stairs to the stage’s front.

He joined about 50 other people who had come forward to receive the Lord Jesus as their Saviour. Looking upwards, Sundar said, “Jesus if you are the true God, please help me be set free from the cycle of rebirth.” He then repeated after the speaker, “Lord Jesus come into my life.”

He had the very last thing in mind when he stated those words—another paranormal encounter. On his head, he perceived someone pouring what appeared to be oil. It landed on his head and started to trickle downhill, covering him completely. As the oil poured down on him, he felt a cleansing take place within his heart. as though all of his misdeeds and his impure nature were being washed and purified. His toes were continually covered with oil. His entire existence was filled with an immense, unexplainable serenity as the oil began to trickle from his toes. When the Lord granted Sundar four extraordinary experiences, he was completely convinced that the Lord Jesus Christ is the One True God. He afterwards honestly surrendered his life to the Lord Jesus Christ and turned into one of his ardent followers.
